HOUSING-FIRST, PERSON-CENTERED

Our approach to housing advocacy centers around the tenant and the belief that housing is a human right. We believe that those who are stably housed can often better address other barriers when they are not worrying about where to sleep each night.

Individuals and families facing homelessness in Minnesota face a variety of barriers that prevent them from securing stable housing. Some of these barriers include, but are not limited to:

– Lack of transportation

– Lack of invoice/ low income

– Lack of childcare resources

– Lack of affordable housing

– Struggles with alcohol use disorder and/or substance use disorder

– Struggle with mental health

– Adverse rental history

– Adverse civil/ criminal background

– Domestic violence

– Language barriers

– New American family/ immigration

PARTNERS FOR HOUSING’S CLIENTS AND GUESTS ARE OFTEN PARTICIPATING IN TWO OR THREE PROGRAMS AT THE SAME TIME. OUR COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH PROVIDES THEM WITH BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUCCESS.
