At its meeting on June 17th, Board members learned of the resignation of Doris Gasterio, long term volunteer and chair of PAH’s Personnel Committee. The Board views Doris’ commitment to helping the homeless as significant and the Board will miss her calm, deliberate approach on issues. The Board also reviewed an Executive Committee recommendation for a restructing of leadership positions within PAH designed to save salary dollars and streamline reporting lines. That recommendation was tabled until the July Board meeting when the 2011-12 budget will be discussed.
Grave concern was expressed over the possible shutdown of state agencies and the state’s ability to respond to routine reimbursement claims stemming from various PAH programs. It is hoped that there will be no disruption. The recent sale of one of PAH’s older properties brought in $63,000 or so and those funds will be used as a cash flow cushion if a state agency shutdown occurs and more is known about the state’s ability to keep up with reimbursement requests on state approved grants.
